Honoring a Carolina Precious Jewel (Trina Boyd)

By

Trina Boyd Founder of Women in Power

Precious Jewelz is an organization that prides itself in the mentoring and uplifting of girls and women nationwide. In honor of March being Women’s History month, we wanted to highlight a few women that are impacting women and overall people in their community! This is the very reason we chose Trina Boyd.

If you haven’t been introduced, then you should be introduced to this Jewel, Mrs. Trina Boyd. Trina is doing some phenomenal things in Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas. This is the reason she was chosen as one of the Carolina’s (North and South Carolina) Precious Jewelz.

Trina holds several different hats. Not only is she a wife and a mother of 3 beautiful children, but she still finds time for business and uplifting women in business. Trina is the CEO of Life is Great Call Center, she is the CEO of Babysitters of Charlotte, the founder of Women in Power, and author of the book Overcame. Wow!

We were recently afforded the pleasure of interviewing her to see how she became the woman that she is today. As we all know, there is always a story behind greatness. We wanted to share her story of perseverance in hopes to motivate and empower women to be all they can be! Anything is possible with the Lord on our team.

Our interview:

1.Trina, What did you think (when you were small) you would be when you grew up?

I’ve always known as a little girl that I would be an entrepreneur and help to mentor people. It has been a passion of mine to uplift and encourage while still giving back to the community.

2.Give a brief synopsis of how you got where you are today.

I got to where I am by being a strong believer of faith and knowing that the God I serve is with me always. I trust all things through him and follow his teachings along with hard work and discipline.

3. How important is it for you to live a PURPOSE driven life?

Aside from being a wife, mother, and woman of God; my purpose has always been to nurture. Seeing people reach their fullest potential is what gives me the purpose to continue doing what I do.

4. What is your current contribution to the world and/or your community?

For the past year I have really been taking an up close and personal approach to helping families with childcare. With the COVID-19 pandemic still amidst and families slowly getting back to work it’s hard finding and affording some form of childcare. We branched out to provide more services such as babysitting, in home nannies, tutors, pet sitters and cleaning services. With 90% of the world working remotely from home and schools still closed, it was a no brainer that we need to help our families and children succeed.

5. What is your favorite quote that you live by?

Or what is your life saying to others?

My favorite bible scripture that has helped me steer the course is from Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

6. How do you want your life to impact others?

I want my life to impact a generation that isn’t afraid to go for it. That’s what drives me every time I talk to someone, coach someone, encourage someone; I simply want them to go for it.

7. What was one of the greatest victories you’ve had in life and one failure (and how you overcome)?

One of my greatest victories is becoming a mother. Knowing that the path God placed me on and to teach and create a legacy so that my work continues on to further help others is one of my greatest accomplishments. One of my biggest failures would be not fulfilling my duties when I knew I could do better and I didn’t give 100%. I had to sit myself down and really ask myself am I the right woman for the job and once I decided that it’s not up to me to change what was destined for me, I got right up and haven’t looked back since.

8. If you could tell the next generation anything, what would it be?

Always apply the knowledge that is given to you. In order to know if it works you first must do the work.

That was the end of our interview, but certainly not the end of her work. As we can see with God all things are possible! Like Trina stated, “I want my life to impact a generation that isn’t afraid to go for it.” That says enough. Ladies, if you’re reading this, there is a reason that you are here. God has a work he wants to do in your life. Let your life speak for you. Go and Just do it!

Trina we want to thank you for being apart of this project. We pray blessings over you and your family and your businesses. We do believe God is raising up women and placing them in places of impact. You are one. We expect to continue seeing amazing things and a bright road ahead for you! You are one of Carolina’s Precious Jewelz. We salute you!

So, with that being said, Who’s next?

P.S. Make sure you celebrate the women you encounter this month. You never know how far a kind word will go! Remember Empowered Women Empower Women!

Blessings,
