Have you ever been stereotyped? Or, put in a box of someone else’s opinion of what you should be?I have, and that’s what birthed Church Girls are Dope!

I remember growing up and one of the mother’s of the church said to me, “Women are not suppose to wear pants in the church!” I looked at her awkwardly and just smiled. I think that moment is what sparked an internal revolution inside me. I knew I was different, but didn’t know exactly how, till sometime later.

I began to find myself. I wore what I wanted because I understood that God made me unique and I had an urgency to stay true to that. I began to wear Jean’s, t shirts, awkwardly colored dresses,etc. Whatever I wanted (respectfully of course)! In that moment I discovered relationship with God and released religion. I didn’t feel as though my relationship with God had anything to do with my attire, but had everything to do with my heart.

Let’s fast forward to years later. Now, I’m a dating adult. I feel the stigma of being a church girl heavy. Guys automatically assume that they can get you to relax your standards and underneath the church girls persona is a freak. Yes, I said it! On the other hand, they think you’re boring. (There is a book brewing about this) in all actuality, church girls are not boring! Church Girls are Dope! Just because we like to communicate and are grounded on the fruit of the spirit means what? We know our worth! And? We will not hop in bed with everyone because we are waiting for our God given husband. We go out. We have fun. We travel. We laugh. We cut up! But, if fun to you is sex, then we didn’t need to be with you in the 1st place.

Anyway, church girls are dope! Get you one….. she is wifey, prayer warrior, friend, confidant,etc.! Don’t sleep on that church girl.
