By

Have you ever just looked in your closet and said it was too much or too little in there? I certainly have. You may have new clothes with tags still on them or you may have old clothes that needed to be thrown out several years ago. Believe or not, your closet is a direct reflection of who you are and the representation you want to give the world. Who knew that the closet had so much meaning behind it? I will show you the meaning behind your closet and the keys to overcome your closet figuratively and metaphorically.

I have a confession to make. Although your actual closet is interesting. This blog post is about your closet, your life. Have you ever heard of the phrase having skeletons in your closet? That’s what we’ll be hitting on. I will use an actual closet comparison. So, what’s in your closet? By the way, in the end, we will overcome our closet. Let’s journey!

Life brings about different experiences, memories, losses, victories, ups and downs, laughter, crying, etc. It’s life. Although we create the life we want to live, that doesn’t stop unforeseen events happening. Just think for a moment, what if every event and every memory was a piece of clothing in your closet? What if every event was a piece of luggage in your closet? What if all your hurt and pain were shoes in your closet? How would your closet look? I’m gonna be honest,if those questions were presented to me years ago, my closet would be the size of a house and full to capacity. That is not the ideal way to live life with so many things in your closet. Just because things get tucked away in the closet does not mean they’re gone. They’re still there and waiting for the day you open the closet and decide to wear a piece of your past.

Time to empty that closet girl!

Freedom is waiting on the other end of that cluttered closet. It’s time to heal and let go, but you can’t do that without dealing with the junk!

Let Go! Things that happened in your childhood, abuse or neglect, bad relationships, unreached goals, forgotten dreams, past regrets, failure, fears and insecurities, embarrassing events, hurt, pain, etc. Let it go!

Did you know the things in your closet directly affects everyone of your relationships? Yes, it does. Your closet is not hidden. It’s in you. So, things can always creep out. You may meet a new guy and he may do something that causes you to put on that coat of insecurity. Now, your jealousy drives him away. Your child may say something that may cause you to put on the shoes of anger. Now. Your outbursts put an emotional wedge between the two of you. Your classmates at your 10 year anniversary may cause you to wear the shirt of embarrassment for emotions you had 15 years ago. Now, you walk around with no confidence and are depressed. This causes you to be antisocial. You may even choose jobs according to what’s in your closet. In all actuality, You put on the garments because they’re still there and you’ve found some comfort in them. Not realizing that your relationships and decisions are suffering due to the baggage you’re carrying in your closet.
